Strongman Contest
May 3, 2003
What: Strongman Contest sanctioned by the North
American Strongman
Society
When: May 3, 2003 starting at noon
Where: Fellowship Baptist Church, 1701 S. Jamison St
(across from
YMCA)
Kirksville
Events:
1. Human Anvil Shooter: Toss an anvil over a cross
bar for height
2. Big Earl's Truck Pull: Pull a truck for time with
a harness
3. Wayne Jackson Lift: Lift a barbell loaded up to
250lbs for reps
overhead
4. Stick & Stones & Anvil's, too: Lift and carry
logs, stones, and
anvils
for time.
5. Scroll Work: Bend ˝ inch hot rolled steel in
double loops for time.
6. Highland Fling: Throw a log for distance Scottish
Style.
Awards: All athletes that complete the contest will
win a plaque to
reward
their accomplishment. Top 3 in each class will win
special plaques.
Classes:
Women
Men 250lbs and up
Men 200 to 249lbs
Men 199lbs and under
Masters (over 40)
Entry Fee: Contest is free, $25.00 membership to the
North American
Strongman Society is required on the day of the meet.
Spectators: Free admission
Rainy Day: Contest will be moved inside if there is
inclement weather.
Groups: We invite all groups, especially youth groups
to attend this
family
oriented contest.
