Brief Biography

He is 32 years old. He lives just outside Philadelphia PA. He started lifting at about 13 years old. At first, he concentrated on gaining size for bodybuilding. Then he powerlifted for 7 or 8 years. He won four PA State Powerlifting Championships. He also won 2 PA State Region II Powerlifting titles. In 1985, he placed second in the USPF teenage national championships. Next, he started doing strongman and highland games contests. In 1993, he won the Virginia's Strongest Man Contest. Also in 1993, he won the North American Strongman Championship which were held in Toronto, Canada.
He started participating in the Highland Games in 1994 as an amateur. After winning many contests, he turned pro in 1995. In the 1997, season he did about 15 games and plans to add a couple more in 1998. He is frighteningly close to breaking the world record in the 56 pound weight toss for height event in the Games. In 1994, he competed in the 1994 World's Strongest Man Competition, but due to inadequate warning from the promoters and an unlucky draw (Heinz Ollesch and Geritt Badenhorst), he did not advance to the finals.
Besides being a professional Highland Games athlete and strongman, he works at his father's printing press on the sales side. He also owns a gym called Iron Sport with his brother Joe. He has been married for 10 years and has 2 daughters.
